Below are instructions that might help you to resolve outlook reminder pop up problems.

As Microsoft already defined a normal procedure to resolve this issue but in some situations this solution doesn’t work so probably follow Procedure two which I am going to define in this article.

Please first check the basic configuration of the Outlook.

Outlook | Tools | Options | Other | Advanced Options | Reminder Options

Please check whether the Display the reminder option is checked.

Procedure 1:

It’s fairly simple you can find on internet as well I am writing it here just for information perpose.

  • Exit outlook
  • Click on Run type “outlook /cleanreminders” (Note: please write without quotes) and then click OK
  • Exit outlook again
  • Click on Run type “outlook /cleanFreeBusy” (Note: please write without quotes) and then click OK
  • If problem still persist then use the /resetfolders switch in place of /clearreminders

Procedure 2:

After following procedure 1 if your problem still persist then you need to download an MAPI editor from Microsoft site. To download this you can follow the below links

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=55fdffd7-1878-4637-9808-1e21abb3ae37&DisplayLang=en#filelist

On this page you need to click on this link to download this MAPI editor -> http://MFCMAPI.codeplex.com

Try to download MFCMAPI 32 bit executable - June 2009 (6.0.0.14) or MFCMAPI 64 bit executable - June 2009 (6.0.0.14).

Run this small application and then click Session then “logon and display store Table”

  1. Prompt you to select the desired profile then select the infected user profile or the local outlook profile.
  2. Double-click the mailbox that contains the inbox rules.
  3. Expand Root Container, and then expand Finder.
  4. Double click Reminders

Note: In some cases you couldn’t able to find the Reminders folder under finder’s tab then might be its somewhere under root list just click on it and delete and press ok but keep in mind don’t click hard delete option.

  1. After deleting the reminders folder then runs “outlook /resetfolders” command in run to recreate this folder.
  2. Then test it should work if it doesn’t please carefully follow the procedure again.
